How to make your look Parisian chic?

New York, London, Milan and - of course - Paris take turns to present the latest creations from all the biggest brands. It's also an opportunity for stylish city streets to show off their hottest looks outside of the catwalk shows.

Fashionistas around the world have always aspired to the iconic Parisian style. This clever mix of timelessness, elegance and retro made the names of icons such as Caroline de Maigret, Inès de la Fressange and Jeanne Damas. But how can you emulate their looks?

The it-bag + trench

Every polished Parisian woman knows the standard expected of her. Her key pieces for a successful outfit are simple: a designer it-bag, of course, and a classic trench coat that can seemingly be worn from Christmas through to Easter. And she does it all so cleverly: the trench coat is chosen in a neutral colour - beige, khaki or slightly taupe -, so she can stand out through the colour of her handbag.

The mini-heels + mom jeans

You're unlikely to see a true Parisienne perched on 14-centimetre stilts like a New Yorker. Instead, she swears by mini or kitten heels with sophisticated details. Mules, court shoes or sling-backs… She has them all! And 80s-style mom jeans are the perfect way to show them off.

The retro jewels+ beret

Again, in pursuit of the old-school, the Parisians set their sights on jewels from the 70s, 80s or 90s... And because we all love a cliché, a beret is placed atop a casually brushed mane. Don't forget the baguette!
