Chloé

Founded by Gaby Aghion in the 1950s, Chloé is all about positive vibes and making people happy. Its moniker is also that of a very dear friend of the designer, a name she finds fresh and cool. This idea of freshness is, in fact, one of the pillars of the Chloé aesthetic. Resolutely youthful and sweet, Chloé has inspired femininity since 1952. At a time when fashion was dominated by Christian Dior and his structured corolla suits, Gaby Aghion imagined a completely different kind of style: floaty, delicate, romantic and soft; one which doesn't restrict women but liberates them. In the 1960s, a young Karl Lagerfeld took over the artistic direction of the House and imagined long skirts, high collars and ultra-feminine lace. His vision, in total harmony with the founder’s ambition, led Chloé to win the hearts of some of the most iconic women of the time, such as the famous Brigitte Bardot. And Chloé's journey has continued ever since, guided by numerous designers: Stella McCartney, Phoebe Philo, Clare Waight Keller, Natacha Ramsay-Levi and now Gabriela Hearst. The epitome of feminism from the very start, it is no surprise that Chloé is now committed to the cause of indigenous women and advocates equality between women and men in its teams. The brand also excels with its commitment to protecting the environment. Driven by the artistic vision of Gabriela Hearst since 2020, the label has continued to reduce its environmental impact – limiting its use of plastic materials and its greenhouse gas emissions – and advocates a new vision of luxury that is more sustainable and circular. Leather dresses are made from off-cuts from previous collections, sweaters are made in recycled wool, and transparency has become a major focus for the brand. Like the Chloé heritage, the Maison's sunglasses are modern and powerful, daring and sometimes surprising. The frames come in either simple or unexpected shapes, evoking the silhouette of a hippie flower or a butterfly, and the lenses are tinted in shades of pink, orange and green.
